Payne Counihan was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. Where he just received his BFA with a concentration in print and narrative form at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Counihan has shown a strong involvement at the Peck School of The Arts with a focus in painting and printmaking, he was also the treasurer of Print club at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. This year Payne Counihan has exhibiting work at UWM Junior Scholarship Show, Organized local gallery shows,the UWM Annual Juried Show, and the SGCI printmaking conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is currently working as a studio assistant for Jessica Meunick-Ganger, head of the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee’s Print and Narrative Forms area, by assisting her with workshop development and teaching, as well as creating work for upcoming local, regional, and national events and exhibitions. While working alongside artist and professor, Melissa Wagner-Lawler, as her studio assistant, assisting Wagner-Lawler for her upcoming book arts show.
